What is the starting time?
The walk warm up will start at 7:45 am and the actual walk at 8:00 am.

What is the New Moon Big Walk all about?
New Moon Big Walk is a 5km walk at the NE CDC district. This event is created by New Moon to raise rice for the needy and less privileged families in the NE CDC's 17 constituencies. Besides the food donation, New Moon will also contribute $100, 000 cash towards the North East - New Moon Senior Healthcare Fund for needy seniors. This amount will be matched by North East CDC, bringing the total to $200, 000. The fund is specially dedicated to help needy seniors living in the North East district who are unable to cope with their healthcare needs.

How can I register for the New Moon Big Walk 2010?

What are the entry fees?
$25 / adult participant
$20 / child participant (7 to 12 years old – age based on year of birth)

When is the closing date for registration?
The closing date of the registration of New Moon Big Walk have been extended from 22nd July to 27th July 2010, due to the overwhelming response and numerous request from interested parties. We advise all interested participants to register soonest to support this event for a good cause.

Will the event still carry on in the event of inclement weather?
In the event of heavy rain, lightning, haze and other inclement weather, the event will be delayed. The event will not be postponed to a later date.

Should the bad weather persist beyond 8.45am or the condition deemed unsuitable, the event will be cancelled. No refund will be issued.

If rain occurs after the event has started, you are advised to seek shelter along the event route. If you wish to continue with the event, you will be walking at your own risk.

How will I know if my registration entry has been accepted?
Upon successful registration, a confirmation page will appear and an email of the confirmation page will be sent to your email address.

You can re-print your confirmation slip by submitting your NRIC number at the provided field above the registration form here.

Do I need to register for my child who is below 6 years old?
Children under 6 years and below walk for free, however they will not be given any goodie bag and will not need to register for the walk but must be accompanied by an adult.

Yes, medical services will be available on site.

What kind of safety measures will be taken to ensure the safety of the participants?
All participants will be given an official wrist tag with their details printed for identification and emergency purposes. There will be safety marshals along the course and medical assistance will be made available to participants who are not feeling well.

When and where can I collect the goodie bag?
You may collect the New Moon Big Walk goodie bag on 24 and 25 July, 11am - 7pm at our goodie bag collection roadshow at The Central, 6 Eu Tong Sen Street.

If I can't participate in the Big Walk for valid reason, will there be a refund?
No, there will be no refund. You are still entitled to the goodie bag. Also, 100 bowls of rice has been donated by New Moon for every registrant.

Can someone else walk on my behalf?
No. For safety reasons, all registrants will have their medical details registered and wrist tags issued for any emergency situations.
